SPIRITUAL POWERS AND THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP THEM-2

Updated: Mar 29

In this article, we will explore methods for developing spiritual power through specific discipline-based practices and diets, in addition to our previous article.

  1. Initiation into Specific Energies

This is the most effective method for developing spiritual power through practice. Being initiated into the right energy by the right teacher enhances one’s abilities, increases awareness, and begins to question one's purpose in life, as well as change the course of one’s path. For example, one can be initiated into energies such as Reiki, Kundalini, Angelic, or Clairvoyance, and then practice with those energies. The goal is to open the healing channel through different methods to help all living beings. Here, selecting both the right energy and the right teacher is extremely important, as it is even possible to regress from the starting point, and fixing it may not be possible.

I chose Reiki, and since I have progressed with the right teacher up until now, I have had no regrets. While some other methods might be stronger and change you more quickly, you can read that all of these methods have a balance of what is given and received. Reiki is the most suitable for me because it flows selflessly and only with good intentions, but regular practices should not be neglected. The ability to be a channel stays with you, but the channel expansion stops if it is not used frequently.

  1. Meditation

Meditation is a practice that has no harm, relaxes the person, and spiritually progresses them. Meditation, which is the food of the soul, is easy to learn and practice. Close your eyes, disconnect from your current physical position and state of mind, and continue as long as you can endure. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to detach from the moment, and its benefits increase.

  1. Diets

These are the most challenging practices or disciplines mentioned in this article. Food fasting and sexual abstinence are the most commonly known ones.

Food fasts include the usual fasting we practice or fasting from specific foods. We are all familiar with the common fast, and the other type of fasting is abstaining from eating the flesh of conscious living beings. It is believed that the flesh of beings who carry the fear of death and the emotions experienced in that final moment might transfer those negative emotions during digestion, which can affect the person eating them psychologically. The meat of beings with collective consciousness, such as shrimp or fish, is considered acceptable.

I have personally experienced great benefits from fasting, both spiritually and physically. In fact, in some institutions abroad, you can also see fasting practices similar to those in our country used for healing incurable diseases. Many religions recommend fasting, albeit in different ways, with the aim of disciplining the body and mind.

Sexual abstinence primarily involves monogamy (those interested in this topic can read my article in the December 2019 issue of Varoluş Magazine here), and proceeding with relationships based on need, while minimizing sensual desires.

  1. Sacred Work

Those who help those in need, work in organizations, spend a large part of their day helping, or distribute food and water regularly to street animals belong to this group.
