SPIRITUAL POWERS AND THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP THEM-1

Spiritual power is also referred to as extrasensory power or psychic power. The word "psyche" has been used since ancient times and represents the soul in Greek mythology.

But why do people feel the desire to enhance their psychic abilities? Because those who achieve this ability have the potential to foresee the future and upcoming events, interpret dreams accurately, choose the right option for themselves among the available ones, understand others without them speaking, perceive the essence of matter and human beings, sense illnesses in living beings from a distance and warn them in time, and even move certain objects.

It is said that the great Sufi, Mevlana Rumi, whom we all know, used to light and extinguish candles with the power of his mind during sema ceremonies. Likewise, Hallaj Mansur, when imprisoned, was asked, "What is patience?" and responded, "It is to stay when you have the power to leave!" He then allegedly created a large hole in the wall using his mind.

Some well-known historical figures who possessed such powers include Nina Kulagina (Nelya Mikhailova), Miroslaw Magola, and Grigori Rasputin. Researching these names online will reveal their astonishing abilities, the experiments conducted by scientists of their time, and the results of these studies. Even intriguing videos of these experiments can be found. These studies were typically conducted in countries with parapsychology research laboratories, such as Russia, the USA, Germany, Japan, and Scotland. Currently, parapsychology departments exist at the Universities of Virginia, Arizona, California, Columbia, Edinburgh, and Northampton.

We can categorize people with spiritual powers into three subgroups:

1st Group: Those Born with Natural Abilities

People in this group are different from birth. Their environment notices their abilities as they grow, and they are treated differently from childhood. According to some beliefs, these individuals come into this world as chosen ones, carrying countless experiences and knowledge from their past lives.

2nd Group: Those Who Acquire These Abilities Through Life Experiences

This occurs due to sudden and great suffering/loss or through initiation from family or mentors. The key difference from others is that this happens abruptly, usually after adolescence. These individuals, with their newfound awareness, use their abilities to help humanity.

3rd Group: Those Who Develop These Abilities Through Discipline and Practice

Although the level achieved is generally weaker compared to the first two groups, many people work with determination toward this goal. In our next article, we will discuss these disciplines and exercises in detail.
