"In recent weeks, I talked about 'bruxism,' the habit of teeth grinding, which has become a common stress-relief method for modern people. This week, I wanted to discuss the consequences of teeth grinding—specifically, tooth wear—and a similar mechanism that causes turmoil in our bodies.
Tooth wear is characterized by the pathological destruction of the enamel, which is the outer layer of the tooth, and the underlying dentin layer—in short, the hard tissues of the tooth. This destruction can result from various factors.
For instance, teeth grinding is a significant contributor to the wear of the upper surfaces of the teeth. This type of wear is called attrition. The chemical dissolution of tooth structures due to acid exposure is known as erosion, while physical factors like aggressive tooth brushing lead to abrasion. Additionally, excessive occlusal stress from teeth clenching causes wear at the cervical region of the teeth—where the tooth meets the gum—referred to as abfraction."

"Today, I will talk to you about abfraction.
When excessive pressure is applied to the teeth beyond the physiological force generated during chewing, energy accumulation occurs in areas away from the point of force application—primarily in the cervical region, known as the neck of the tooth. This accumulated energy initially causes microscopic bending or flexing in the enamel at a cellular level. Over time, as the force continues, the energy builds up further, leading to progressive wear. What starts at a micro level eventually progresses to a macro level, becoming visible to the naked eye, resulting in a condition similar to what is shown in the image below."

"If you're wondering how the force of teeth clenching could possibly cause such damage right in the middle of the tooth, I suggest taking a look at the image below."

"Think of a tin can that used to be sturdy. Imagine punching the tin can or constantly applying pressure from above. The logic is the same. The energy from the excessive force accumulates in the can and causes it to bend. (I'm not sure of the source, but I’ve heard that when you clench your teeth, about 4 tons of pressure are applied to the jaw).
Now, take a look at the image below. Do you notice a similar pattern? A figure with a bent back..."

"If you're wondering where the pressure that bends the back comes from, while the force that bends the teeth comes from the jaw and the force that bends the tin can comes from the hand, let me answer: this pressure mainly comes from our minds. From the thoughts in our minds, the emotions identified with those thoughts, and our ingrained beliefs..."

"Under normal conditions, when a person is truly themselves, aligned with their essence, their entire body functions smoothly. Additionally, their mind, soul, and body are in perfect balance. The chakras work in harmony and balance.
However, today, especially the mind and throat chakras are known to have problems, and many people are aware of this. This is because modern humans are highly stressed. Their attention is almost entirely in their minds, stuck in thoughts about the past and future, caught in plans or at war with their past. When they can't plan, they become anxious. Many people feel burdened by their life, the people in it, and their work, feeling crushed under the weight. A lot of people also complain about not being able to be themselves. Due to shame, guilt, and worrying about what others will think, they can't express what’s inside, accumulating it. All of these issues lead to an energy buildup in the mind and throat chakras. The effect of this energy buildup on the body is like the constant pressure applied to a tin can from above. Having all the energy in the upper chakras disrupts the balance in this direction. As a result, the person feels a weight on them, and the back, unable to carry it, bends.
If you have such a problem, I recommend paying attention to your thoughts and feelings, and their content, and meditating on this issue. You will understand better what I mean and see how thoughts and feelings can have such an impact on your body. As you free yourself from these feelings/thoughts, you will feel lighter and notice that you’re aligning from within, standing taller.
Additionally;
Balance your chakras with Reiki.
Don’t overthink.
Share the excessive responsibilities you’ve taken on.
Be honest, speak what comes from within.
Learn to breathe properly, and most importantly,
Be yourself.
When the tin can is full inside, it becomes harder to bend because it solidifies. Likewise, fill yourself with your essence, strengthen from within as your true self. The most important thing is;
Love, believe in yourself...
And if you have a problem like tooth wear, don’t worry. Go to your dentist and leave the rest to them.
Stay with love,
Emine NALÇACI MAVİŞ"
