HOW MUCH ARE YOU IN THE FLOW?

There is a mathematics to this—one that cannot be explained with words.
Don’t say, “I don’t understand mathematics.” This is an inner mathematics, the mathematics of life itself… of reality itself.
It’s very simple, very pure… A state in which you accept yourself in every way, where there is no claim, where you can allow, and when necessary, you can refuse. A state where both yes and no flow like water.
Some thoughts arise, as if saying, “What is this?” A state where you can even say “Welcome, come as you are” to thoughts. Moments when you realize that both good and bad thoughts are inherently human.
Moments when you recognize that even judgments, in our human and ego-driven moments, are simply a part of us.
A moment when you understand that profanity, when used in the right place, doesn’t actually jar the ear. Not because of the profanity itself, but because you see that the situation aligns with it, and you realize that even that can have its own harmony.
A moment when, in the midst of noise and conflict, instead of focusing on the negativity, you see that expression is finding its place, and you feel a sense of relief. In the end, there will either be reconciliation or separation, but no matter what, there is movement. And in that moment, you can even smile at the thought—because not everything has to unfold positively; it is the acceptance of duality.
A growing number of moments when you say, “No need to overthink it.”
Amid daily routines, work, home, and children, time feels like something slipping through your hands. The road you begin with desires, aspirations, and intentions—perhaps in a life filled with intense education—can become overwhelming. Not enough time? Let it be. There will come a time when it will be enough, and then you will savor it even more.
This may sound cliché right now, but I want to include a quote from Tapduk Emre, the mentor of Yunus Emre, whose words and name, I believe, will bring healing to this text and to you.
Tapduk Emre says:"If the time has come to awaken, there will be someone to awaken you. For some, it is Hızır; for some, a flying bird; for some, a growing plant; for some, a blooming flower; for some, a flowing river; for some, a silent stone."
Perhaps, without this intensity, the complexities of the mind would not leave you alone. In my humble opinion, this intensity protects us from the mind’s games. If there is a moment when you go beyond the mind, I believe it happens through movement.
So, let go of the worry that you can’t take care of yourself for a while. The moments when you think you’re neglecting yourself—don’t worry, your soul is being taken care of. You won’t overcome the healing power of movement, intensity, or even chaos with the solutions your mind can comprehend, my dear friend.
Let life solve it for you. Let your precious pearls spill a little. Let heavy snow fall on the parts of yourself you rely on the most, so they may be cleansed and create a new you.
Let our assumed selves—the ones that always say, “I am right”—stop insisting for a moment and allow themselves to make mistakes. And then, like Orhan Gencebay says, we can say, “No one is without fault.” But sincerely, genuinely.
This, right here, is the essence of flow—to trust and accept life as it is, both the good and the bad. To trust in God, Allah, or whatever name you use—to trust, indirectly, in yourself.
And then? Then, in the flow, things will cook and transform into a state on their own. And we don’t need to worry too much about that either. We’ll think about it when the time comes, won’t we?
Now, as these words flow onto the page, it is late November. Soon, December will come, and before we know it, the year will be over.
Let 2025 arrive with its miracles—for me, for you, for all of us.
With a big smile, in flow—Happy New Year!
