HOW MANY FORMS OF REIKI EXIST?

**"For a long time, I've been dealing with wrong and incomplete initiations, so I decided to make a topic that is the backbone of the matter the focus of this writing. Our teacher, İsmail Bülbül, made a great effort in this regard, but still, every day we encounter something new and unexpected. So why are there so many types of Reiki and differences? And how should we interpret them? I’m not talking about the differences in schools, training methods, etc., but we’re facing problems in much more fundamental areas, and this is not only the case in our country, but worldwide as well.
At one time, H. Takata changed the entire Reiki story (especially the part related to M. Usui) to adapt it from Japan to America. In more recent periods, people who went to Japan and did extensive research to access previously unavailable information made these things public (keep in mind that Japanese society, especially in these matters, is a minority and very closed). However, we still read Reiki stories that are not found in any books. Moreover, we are seeing types, processes, levels, symbols, and techniques that do not exist. After Takata’s death, things got even more complicated, and after the 1980s, it became a real mess. I leave the research of these matters to you, there are sources available, and much has been written about it. The main issue is this: If we look at it from a positive perspective, as if what is happening is meant to be, there is wisdom in this. Reiki spreading to wider audiences more easily and quickly, or lessons being learned, balance, etc., can be considered beneficial in this sense. However, especially with our entry into the New Age, a dark side to these positive aspects emerged. How? After every deep meditation, retreat, or practice, people started becoming channels, creating new symbols, techniques, initiation forms, and rules according to their own understanding. Thus, countless varieties of Reiki emerged. Egos, inflated by more differences, found each other, and these still work through placebo and belief effects, and perhaps this will continue growing.
Ego, both material and spiritual, whether with good or bad intentions, we must open a huge window here, which is the necessity of the spiritual path and consciousness! What I mean is, in the series of mistakes, shortcomings, and irregularities that affect our lives in four dimensions, both those who are inclined, those who believe, and all of us are responsible for it. I invite those who will receive Reiki, those who have received it, and especially the teachers to be more responsible in this matter. When there is an intervention in your energy field through initiation, it must be done correctly and continue that way. Because an incomplete or wrong transmission has both material and spiritual effects, and correcting it is not easy compared to doing it right from the beginning. Initiation is both a process and a technique, as well as a spiritual upgrade, meaning that even if we perceive energies abstractly, everything has its form and structure. No matter who we are, we cannot bend or distort it as we wish. If we do, what we apply ceases to be Reiki and becomes something else. As you can understand, there isn’t many types of Reiki, there is just one, and its principles are clear and sufficient. Outside of these fundamentals, we can only talk about variations.
So why does the opposite happen? You can say it’s either open or hidden, material or spiritual ego, yes. My view is this: especially since all Western systems are derived from the East, we lack depth perception, ancient wisdom, and certain connections in many vital aspects. When our individual systems center around this, problems arise. That’s why I emphasize so much: Reiki is a key, but if you don’t fill its core with truth / essence knowledge, mystical sciences, esoteric traditions, and knowledge, or if it doesn’t open you to these, at some point, you will falter. You can refer to my article titled “The Sufism School in Reiki” for more on this. https://varolus.com/reikide-tasavvuf-ekolu/
The entire life journey, whether conscious, unconscious, or fluctuating, is fundamentally a spiritual, endless journey. And there are countless tools and guides that accompany this journey. Contrary to what is assumed, there are certain guidelines, steps, thresholds, frameworks, and rules for the safety of the journey and the traveler, and the results depend on following these. Knowledge is the first of these. The heart is the second. If you skip the first and try to start backwards, or if there is a deviation or inadequacy, the heart will suffer. The strength of the spine is essential for wings. Two wings and solid grounding are necessary for flying. Following the footsteps is the most direct and sure way in this matter. Neglecting certain virtues and requirements by thinking that you can fly as you please, no matter your level, is one of the most common mistakes on the spiritual path, and it carries consequences. In fact, the higher the merit, the more attention you must give to this. You might want to revisit the myth of Icarus from this perspective.
"Increase my knowledge" and "expand my heart" are beautiful prayers. When knowledge and reason increase, neither the compass will go astray, nor the wheat and chaff will mix, nor the connection will weaken, nor harm will be done, nor will manners and ethics be violated, nor virtues lost, nor will you be deceived or lost. As Mevlana said, “Even love is the result of knowledge.” When the heart expands, the ability to turn thorns into roses and perform alchemy becomes the issue. If you are subject to a solid spiritual/mystical/traditional discipline and listen to what is said, your knowledge is strong, your heart is open, and you are aligned. You will not incline towards dubious matters, but rather will research, be warned in various ways, and change your course."
