FEAR OF BEING UNABLE TO LOVE

Everyone, at some point, may fear loving. They might think they cannot meet the other person's expectations, that their traumas make them undeserving of happiness. They might run away from things. Everyone does this; everyone fears loving.

But the fear of being unable to love—now, that is something else entirely. Otherwise, why would a great person fear hurting an ant? Why would someone, when given the chance to help, choose not to? Why would they beg their Lord, saying, "My Lord, if we have failed in gratitude, open our eyes, make us aware." Not everyone fears being unable to love... It is out of respect for that feeling that we remain in this world.

If that is the case, and we are the pearls of existence, then it seems we must diagnose correctly the emotions and situations that come our way in order to shine. Everyone wants to speak; we love to talk. Even those who prefer not to speak, their minds chatter, comment, and refuse to listen. They are in another realm, trying to pull the topic into their own world. Some are perpetually polite, some want to contribute with a wise saying, others compare and miss the essence of the topic. Not everyone fears being unable to listen… The fear of not being able to manage the urge to be right… One must truly receive in order to give. And knowing how to receive is just as important.

To understand—surely, the word itself contains "an" (moment) for a reason. Understanding brings knowledge with it. It is always duality, existential contradictions; they all dissolve when the heart's eye opens, and being emerges.

The self melts within the self. Whatever befalls us, it comes from within. Humans make mistakes. Mirrors reveal the truth. Everyone fears saying I. But the Lord sets everything right. The one who bears witness knows the true self. They help, they love, they are tolerant, they forgive. The one who cannot bear witness, however, fears being unable to say I.
