Everything in the universe is balanced with its opposites, just like Ying and Yang. The balance of acid and alkaline is also a balance in the body. Let’s forget about calorie counting, grams, protein diets, low-fat diets, and matchbox calculations. Let’s focus on how acidic or alkaline we are instead.
In the first part, we briefly introduced the topic of acid and alkaline environments and provided definitions. What did we say? An acidic environment occurs when the accumulation of waste from improper food intake overwhelms the body's capacity to clean, defend, and repair itself, causing all tissues to become polluted. The antidote to acid is to increase alkalinity. When acid-induced damage increases in a cell, the function in the tissue created by that cell begins to deteriorate, and if the damage continues, disease arises in the related organ.
What matters most is the state of the food after digestion. Why? Because the body, due to its metabolism, produces acid waste every day and must clean it. If we choose foods that produce acid waste, acidity in our body increases. This makes cleaning the body even more difficult. The acids that cannot be cleaned are stored in fat deposits. As acidity increases, the body struggles to burn fat.
The issue of fat storage due to acid waste is so important that it is a hidden factor in our diets and when trying to lose weight. To protect us, our body stores the waste it cannot eliminate in fat cells. Otherwise, as acid waste would damage our tissue, as mentioned earlier, excess waste harms our organs. This is why only when we create an alkaline environment can the acid waste stored in fat be easily eliminated without harm.
With an alkaline diet, we can easily expel these wastes and lose weight as well. If we are consuming very few calories and still not losing weight, we should remember this point. The body’s resistance to protect us is also a natural mechanism of the body. We might think that no matter how hard we try, we cannot lose weight, which then leads to mental and physical fatigue. This turns into a vicious cycle.
To support this wonderful mechanism, we should carefully choose the foods we eat and drink, and in short, create an alkaline environment, which makes the body’s work much easier. Is it easy to make choices among so many options? Of course not; it’s confusing, and there is so much information around. But we can start with small efforts like eating vegetables in season, preparing for winter with seasonal foods, and avoiding packaged foods.
The cause of most diseases, including cancer, is acidification. It is worth considering how much waste the food we eat will leave behind.
With love...
