"What is the purpose of our existence?
In his work "The Devil Within" Sabahattin Ali writes: ‘A person could not have come into this world just to eat, drink, and sleep with someone. A bigger and more humane reason was needed.’ The answer to this question, which everyone asks repeatedly in their lives, may not be as difficult as it seems. Beethoven may have existed only to compose his 9th Symphony, even during a time when he was almost completely deaf. Another person may have come into the world to burn down a forest with the reckless act of tossing a cigarette butt. Sabahattin Ali existed to touch the lives of many with the book he wrote, and another one came into the world to intentionally harm others and extinguish his own life. You came into this world to lighten a heart and change its direction with a word you said, while another came to save many patients' lives with a method they discovered. Whether good or bad, big or small, regardless of the impact, we came into this world to complete a tiny moment in the flow of life. We are the parts of the whole. Small but actually very big. How beautifully Aşık Daimi said;
Both my universe and I am a particleDon’t I know myself?I am a particle within a particleDon’t I know myself?
What is happiness?
It is completely about you. I have a story I love related to this. The first day an old woman moved into a nursing home, she walked with the caretaker to her room. The caretaker started describing the room, mentioning the curtains. The old woman says, ‘I really love those curtains.’ The girl replies, ‘But you haven’t seen the curtains yet.’ The old woman explains, ‘Happiness is something you decide on before time. Whether I like the room or not has nothing to do with how the furniture is arranged. It’s about how I arrange them in my mind. I had already decided to like them. This is a decision I make every time I wake up in the morning.’ In other words, happiness is about you deciding to be happy, wanting it, and being able to enjoy every moment you live. It is neither magic nor a miracle, this is the real skill.
What is the greatest power a person can have in life?
It is emotional balance. Being able to control your emotions is the greatest power. For example, staying calm when you’re really angry. Or, when you don’t get something you really wanted, accepting that absence with grace. On the contrary, celebrating your happiness in a controlled way, not losing balance, and not getting spoiled. Even being able to joke when you're very sad. Maintaining your politeness when things don't go as planned. Even in a moment of great fear, singing songs in your head like la la la la laaaa and trying to think positive thoughts… If I can often achieve these, then in the name of emotional balance, power is within me. How happy I am…
Throughout life, a person’s mind often gets filled with many questions like these. Everyone has different answers. The answers to these seemingly difficult questions you see above are entirely the product of my imagination. They have no connection with real people or institutions. I hope that all the difficult questions in life bring their answers to you with ease.
With love..."**
